Yummy Balls

The mother of all snacks, these sweet simple spheres will grab your heart at first bite.

We’re taking snacking back.

One of the best ways to eliminate added sugar, ingredients you can’t read, and empty calories is to take snack making back into our own hands. Enter, yummy balls. These little beauts have been gracing our table as a family favorite for decades. They wait patiently in the freezer, ready at a moments notice to curb a sweet tooth, relieve a stomach rumble, or hold a toddler off until dinner.

Recipe

6 C. oats, rolled
1 ½ C. honey
1 C. natural peanut butter
½ C. cocoa powder
4 T. butter, softened (optional)
2 tsp vanilla
sweetened coconut for rolling

To Make

Mix oats and cocoa powder together. Add in honey, peanut butter, vanilla, and butter. Stir. Roll into balls and press into sweetened coconut flakes (optional). We like to freeze/refrigerate ours for the best texture, but that’s mostly just preference. As I’m sure you’ll find, they taste pretty good right out of the bowl….

Pro Tip—wet your hands to avoid the mixture sticking to them while rolling.

To Meal Prep

Make a double batch just as instructed above and freeze in a sealed ziplock bag or glass container.

Pair With

A glass of milk if you’re feeling fancy…
